HAPPY LOVERS DAY TO MY TWO LOVERS

  When I was growing up my Father would have us do our laundry on Friday, iron them on Saturday and rest on Sunday. On Friday as well, all school assignments had to be done, then 2 hours of “bonus” reading on Saturday. (Your age could allow for less, or make for more hours though). Phew! Until weekends, no TV throughout the seemingly long weekdays; movies on Sundays, and only Christian movies. A chapter of the Bible every day for our compulsory reading and explaining to him during morning devotion. In academics, we didn't get beatings for making mistakes (that was reserved for stubbornness, lying, stealing, disobedience) but rather we got second chances after more explanation. Somehow he could spot the mistakes that were due to laziness and refused us that space by enforcing his disciplines. Whenever we read for a test, it wasn't so we could get a bicycle or a Nintendo Gameboy. Treats weren't the rewards for passing tests. He gave us a bigger picture of what we were achie
